ÖMSA SKINN

Mickey Mouse appears in all my paintings — sometimes clear, sometimes hidden — a playful signature of mine. The story goes back to my family, who emigrated from Luleå to Chicago in 1900. My great-grandmother later returned home with four children. Around 1930, a felt Mickey Mouse doll arrived from America, with bendable limbs, black pants, and yellow shoes. It became a family treasure, and was later passed on to me. As a child of the '60s, I’ve never missed a Christmas without Mickey and his friends!
